Because At Least We Are Reading Mom is strict, but She bends the rules On her āsā word Whenever we carpool Past the billboard We read and read Loud as we can From the back seat Until the best-sign-ever Disappears from sight ********** by Lori Lipsky photo credit: Anita Klumpers

Cheeky blighters…!
Thanks for weighing in, my Aussie friend!
Oh is this ever fun. And I love the perspective here that I don’t remember you using before. And this could have been a little snapshot of my childhood.
Or mine. Thank you for lending your photo to my poem!
I have fond memories of passing the sign in Milwaukee when you and our other writer friends were in the car. There was a lot of reading aloud going on.
OH MY GOSH – I LOVED THIS!!
this post at this time? You’ll never know how much I needed your playful words or the humor. Thanks Lori, you have a gift!
Sue
Writers are lucky when readers come upon their words at just the right time. I’m happy it was the case with the two of us.
Thank you, Sue!
Yup. It was perfect timing. Sent a missive to my friend in Ireland – she’s having back problems too. I told her to swing by and that she’d loved your post.
Hope she does!
Happy holidays to you, Lori and thanks again for the cheery and very funny poem.

O my goodness, Lori! What a hoot!
If I remember right, you helped inspire this poem with some ‘reading’ from the back seat as we drove past the sign.
Reblogged this on down the mountain road and commented:
