Haiku

Parched earth gulps water

Farmers breathe audible sighs—

Welcome summer rain

Haiku

Drizzle, mist, showers

Morning dew, evening dew

The grace of God

Dreams of Rain

Posted on July 19, 2012 by Lori Lipsky
Dreams of Rain by Lori Lipsky

It plays its evening melody on tin roofs
Forms puddles on garden walkways
Quenches the thirst of the majestic oak

Fields of corn gulp their fill, and
In the morning, flower petals
Glisten with droplets of dew
